If you're placing calls through the OBiON App instead of using carrier minutes, the only thing being used by your smartphone should be data bytes.

You can confirm that the calls went through your OBi and the service provider configured on your OBi by logging into your OBi with your web browser using the IP address returned by dialing ***1 from the OBi PHONE Port.  Once logged in, you can review the OBi Call History for the calls in question.

Thanks for the response RonR i used the ObiON app and it should use data by default right?, but in my bill the charges are within Long distance charges not under Data and other services so it didn't use my data. I don't explain how if i used the ObiON app it used my carrier minutes instead.

I just want some advice to get rid of this. TIA

Did you log into your OBi and look at the Call History to confirm the calls went through a service provider on your OBi and not your cell phone provider?

I'm not sure what to tell you.  If you made the calls through the OBiON App and OBi, Telus wouldn't know anything about them, other than any data usage you might have incurred through Telus.  If the calls went through the OBiON App and OBi, you should be able to see them in the OBi Call History to prove you didn't use Telus.  The OBi stores a record of the last 200 calls that went through it.

Veronica,

I think it's a safe bet that you did not dial that call through the OBiON app. As RonR said, if you had, Telus wouldn't know anything about it and could not list the call.

To be clear, you have to use the dialer that is in the ObiOn app, not the phone's native dialer.  If you went to your phone's contacts and hit the phone icon to call a contact, you did not use the ObiOn app.
