To direct dial regular phone numbers you must designate an Obi as the default gateway. This is done on your dashboard. You should be able to dial other Obitalk numbers without additional configuration, unless the Obitalk network is messed up again.

I set Obi as the default gateway (took me a while to find it) but still no go. Call ends immediately. Seems like many other people are having this problem too.

tonyk,
If you can successfully reach the echo test at **9 222 222 222, the OBiON App is basically working.
Please log into the OBi at the IP address returned by dialing ***1 and post the contents of:
Voice Services -> OBiTALK Service -> InboundCallRoute
You can change the actual numbers so as not to divulge anything personal, but keep the format correct.

When I connected today to run these tests everything was working fine. Don't know why but I'll take it!

Ron I have the same issue as well....call always immediately ends. I did every step in this thread. I can dial my obi and connect using **9 and number. But when I dial a regular number....for instance my wife's cell....I always get ended'. I did specify my home device in gateway in the dashboard.
I also log into my Obi at its IP address, and can see the varios characters in the 'inboundcallroute' field.....but I didn't want to post it (not sure...you seemed to indicate the the info was not for sharing). Thanks

I need help also. I did the echo test and it worked. Tried log out and log back in with OBiON and still have the same problem. The calls always end after 3-5 seconds. Please help. Thanks.

When I logged into obitalk.com, I saw that I have 2 numbers. One is for the Soft phone which was automatically created and start with 290xxxxxx and the other one is my device (200xxxxxx). I clicked on Edit the Soft Phone and saw that the OBI Voice gateway was blank so I've selected my device (200xxxxxx). After that, when I dialed a number from OBiON, it rings my home phone instead of the number I was dialing.
Am I missing something here? Please help!

Just found out that I have to dial 1 + 10 digits to get it to work.

dialing 10 digits should work properly for delivery through the default outgoing service, it does for me.
For me I can dial 10 digits for default service. **2 +10 digits for sp2 **8 +10 digits for Li **9 +any Obi endpoint number for Obitalk service.
Anything else immediately rings the Obi.

Your configuration wasn't generated by the OBiTALK Web Portal. You've made custom changes.

Hi, what I found is several items/steps that need to be taken...after the Firmware update...to get it to stop disconnecting right after you dial a number...you have to:
1) Unassign in the "SoftPhone" settings the "OBi Voice Gateway" 2) Delete the Main Obitalk Endpoint 3) Re-Add the Main Obitalk Endpoint 4) Re-Assign in the "SoftPhone" settings the "OBi Voice Gateway" back to that unit
....Then you will be able to begin to direct dial from the Android App...again...after about fooling around with all of the tech questions/replies, that is what fixed the problem...Have a great day everyone...
