ricoba,
OK, so I am brand spanking new to this whole VOiP thing.
What took you so long to join the party?
Just unpacked my new OBi 100 and have gone as far as trying to dial the *9222222222 number
That should be **9 222 222 222 OBi echo test. See if you can hear yourself speak. I usually sing "Mary had a little lamb", but you are free to choose your own. OBihai have their own voip service connecting OBi to OBi communications.
Your OBi 100 comes with 2, count them "TWO" service provider slots. This means that you can have any combination of commercial voip providers (Callcentric/voipms, etc...) or the free (confirmed untill the end of 2012) Google Voice. Once again no more than 2 accounts in total. I suggest that you get a cheap commercial account and one Google Voice acct. Seems a lot of people like Callcentric. I believe they even have an offer for a free account for a NY DID number.
Since you are spending some time reading this, I'll refer you to some other basic reading material which will save me some time retyping the same information all over again.

It was almost like busking. I had to entertain people to get their interest. It was fun. By the way enjoy the forum.
