Does anyone successfully connect OBI from mainland China?
I have one unit in China which just couldn't connect to Internet.  the internet connect has been tested fine, and the unit itself has pre-configured in US with Google Voice,  should I have it to be factory reset in China, and re-register? please  advice
I would not do a factory reset, until you have more evidence that the configuration is corrupted.

Does a phone connected to the device get a dial tone?  If not, post the state of the lights on the device.

Otherwise, when you dial ***1, do you hear a valid local IP address?  If not, does the router light for the port in question illuminate when the device is connected?

If the OBi has a valid local IP, can you access its web page?  Does it show the correct date and time?  What happens when you dial **9 222 222 222?

Hi Stewart , thanks a lot.

After two days struggle,  I had to do a factory reset, and now, everything,  including Google Voice, works flawless now.

Is it possible to turn off google voice mail?  I want to use answer machine at home.

No. To use an answering machine for calls through google voice you would have to set it to pick up before google. That means setting your machine for 3 rings, maybe 4.

I'm in Hong Kong, just bought a Obi110 and installed it with GV today, works flawless!

One question, if I want my friends in the US to call my GV number and if I do not pick up after a few rings, it would forward the call to my HK cell phone number. Would that work? Is it possible?

I read the device administration guide on http://obihai.com/docs/OBiDeviceAdminGuide.pdf. On page 18 it talked about call forwarding, but I don't know how to input a HK number, should I use 852+number? 011-852+ number? Thanks!

Forwarding from an American number to a HK number would be an international call charged at Google's international rates.
The 011852+local number format would be used.
However, if you have a land line plugged into the OBi, calls could be forwarded through it to your cell.

Hi md23,

This is possible but you need to route your call from GV installed in HK to local PSTN teleco company. This routing is done in the OBi110 box. How to do it? You need to read other members's threads since I have not programmed my OBi110 for a long time.

Not sure if this is the right place for this question.  My wife calls HK/Taiwan/China averaging about 1000 minutes a month. We're currently using Vonage.  Which VoIP provider do you recommend if I'm to switch to OBi1100/GV to make international calls from the U.S.  And yes, I'm hoping to save some hard earn $$ with OBi1100.  Thank you!
