Title: suddenly cannot make outbound or receive inbound calls
Post by: rramstad on May 03, 2017, 05:53:02 PM
Hi, I have an Obi110 and it's been working for years with Google Voice.

Today when a call went directly to voicemail -- and showed up in Google Voice that way -- and the phone never rang, I realized that the Obi110 wasn't working properly.

I've tried unchecking the Google chat next to my email, and checking it again, no dice.

I've tried deleting it, but when I try to do an outbound call, my browser says I have to be using Hangouts to make an outbound call...  which supposedly I shouldn't be doing?  My browser also says that in late June the old Chat is going away completely.

Anyhow, when I refreshed the phones section -- by going to the Google Voice, Settings, TRANSFER -- the chat shows up checked with the correct email.

Google Voice says "Your number" and has the correct inbound phone number.

My device shows a solid green first LED, and I can reach the echo test server, but I can't make an outbound call (always gets a 503 status error from the provider) and inbound calls always ring four to six times and then go to voicemail.

I've also tried deleting the SP1 Google Voice service, and then reconfiguring Google Voice, and that didn't change a thing.

I'm sort of at wit's end here -- in the past, when the system has gotten borked, some combination of these things, and power cycling, always fixed it.

Any thoughts?

Please don't cross-post, with some information in one post, and some other information in another post.

I can't figure out what you meant by this:

"Transfer" means, move a Google Voice inbound telephone number from one Google account to another one.  Did you do that?

Log into your Google Voice account on a laptop/desktop computer's web browser and go to settings.  Add and verify a real, 10-digit, US telephone number (land line or mobile).  Call your Google Voice number (or have a friend/relative call it) from some other, unrelated number.  The verified forwarding/linked phone number should ring.  Does it?
