Title: Obihai202 setup with ip phone
Post by: wadedan on November 29, 2017, 11:30:53 AM
Good afternoon all:

Is it possible to go through the initial setup of the OBIHAI202 device with an IP phone in lieu of a standard analog phone?

I have a SIP configured IP phone that I would like to use for my home office. TFTP service reports the following error:

"Connection received from 192.168.1.4 on port 52585 [29/11 14:15:40.695]
Read request for file <SEP64A0E7F7D9B0.cnf.xml>. Mode octet [29/11 14:15:40.695]
File <SEP64A0E7F7D9B0.cnf.xml> : error 2 in system call CreateFile The system cannot find the file specified. [29/11 14:15:40.695]"

You can do most configuring of an OBi by pointing a browser to its IP address and logging in to its onboard web server with admin and admin as username and password.  You MUST use an analogue phone to dial the **5 xxxx to register the OBi to the Obitalk portal.

Also be aware  that the 202 contains a router between its two ethernet ports.  By default the above access is only possible from the LAN port.

There is a wealth of information in the 200 pages of the Admin Guide available on the Docs and Downloads page.

The OBi will never serve up a config file to an IP phone.  It is not designed to do that.

There is a tutorial on connecting an IP phone to an OBi202 at http://web.archive.org/web/20160317011451/http://www.obihai.com/docs/OBi-VoIP-Device-Attach-Legacy-IP-Phone-Workbook-v1-0.pdf
