Title: obi1022 + wifi
Post by: ziggggy on December 13, 2017, 12:03:28 PM
How reliable and how good is the quality when using the obi1022 with the wifi module in a small office where the wifi signal is excellent? I would generally prefer to run cat5e to the phone, but if the wifi module works just as good, then it might not be worth the hassle.

I have a 1022 that I used for a couple of years with the original OBiWiFi dongle (2.4GHz only) and the current dongle (dual-band).  It worked fine.  You won't have a problem, as long as your WiFi network isn't swamped by some other user doing something like lots of HD video streaming or online gaming or something else that hogs the network.  In those instances, you might have some dropouts or distortion.  I'd say, just go for it, and if, over time, it doesn't work out, then you can run an Ethernet cable.
