Title: Obi202 outbound calls keep ringing when reaching voicemail
Post by: RiversArts on March 27, 2019, 06:13:46 PM
I have to say, setting up the Obi202 has been one of the most challenging things I've done, since information is scattered.

I've gotten my Obi202 finally up and connected to my Google Voice account. Two main issues:
- When I make an outbound call and it reaches another person's voicemail, it actually continues to ring. I tested this on an outside cell phone and you can actually hear the ringing in the message that's left!

-I tested inbound calling, and the ring is so quick! I need the ring to be a little longer in order to have a shot at hearing it.

These are the two biggies - I have other questions, like can I do 3 way calling, is call waiting already turned on by default, and how do I add my all-in-one fax machine if SP2 has to be used for E911?

Here's hoping someone can help! Thanks.

GV voicemail takes the call if not answered within about 25 seconds. That is not configurable.

Your fax question perhaps demonstrates a lack of understanding that the two phone jacks on a 202 are not "hardwired" to SP1 and SP2.

About the two ports: uh, right, that's why I'm in the "New to Obi" forum. Good to know though. I'll add my fax.

For some reason the length of the ring (not when it goes to voicemail, but the actual length of the ringing sound) actually fixed itself within several hours, goodness knows why, but glad it's working.
