I have been a obihai/GV user for several years and very happy with the service. But in the last few weeks mysteriously the calls get disconnected with a loud static after a little over 15 minutes on the line. Anyone has any clue what may be causing this? I use obihai 202.

You stated "several years". Make sure of no other 3rd party devices connected and your OBi unit's firmware is up to date, with latest firmware version: http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=13484.msg97742#msg97742
