Title: OBiLINE FXO Adapter - End-of-Life Replacement Options?
Post by: Daniel_Jones on September 25, 2019, 06:18:45 AM
We use the Obi202 ATAs to interface with analog paging systems mostly with FXS, and sometimes using FXO.  If the OBiLINE FXO Adapter is End-of-Life EoL, what would be a best replacement?  Should we be looking at a 212 or 312 if there is no other USB FXO style adapters for the 202?

Thanks!

Yes, the OBi212 device with LINE-IN port (PSTN) is highly suggested for FXO gateway to interface with analog paging systems since the OBiLINE dongle is going away.

OBi212 device LINE-IN port is the same (equally) as if you are using the OBiLINE dongle plugged into the OBi202 device USB port.  But you're getting the OBi212 device as 1 piece instead of 2 pieces.

Do you know if the Obi212 is being discontinued, or if there is any reason not go with the Obi312?

Thank you for replying!

The 212 and 312 are essentially the same hardware.  They use the same firmware which is able to distinguish between them and thereby inhibit the 312 from working with Google Voice.  In all other respects the 212 and 312 perform identically.
