Title: Has Google Voice started charging for US domestic calls?
Post by: StudioD on April 27, 2020, 10:25:07 AM
I just made a call as usual from my OBi202-connected home phone in New Jersey to a number in South Dakota, a conference call provider in area code 605.  Before the call connected I got an announcement saying, "This call is being routed by Google. The cost is 1 cent per minute."

I tried a second time to make sure it wasn't a fluke, with the same results.  I've been using my OBi202 with Google Voice for outbound calls for years and haven't made any changes today.

My Google account was indeed debited by 1 cent per minute for that call. Any idea what's up?

So it was the conference call provider, good. That's better than the alternative.  Luckily it was a one-time call I needed to be on for my work and I don't expect to have to use that service again.  Thanks for the link.
