Title: obi212 will not recognize when receiver hangs up
Post by: hugs5 on May 26, 2020, 12:45:01 PM
The obi212 will not recognize when my analog phone hangs up.  It then times out, the tone signals the phone is off the hook, and then disconnects and is dead.  The only way to restore dial tone is to unplug the phone, then plug it back in.  Briefly has a dial tone until it times out, signals the phone is off the hook, and then disconnects and is dead.  Impossible to receive calls, can't disconnect if or when calling out, the phone leaves the line open until it times out, signals the phone is off the hook, and then disconnects and is dead.

HELP!  Do I return the unit, because it's a bad unit?

well, duh... I finally figured it out.  obi212 was line 2 plugged into the "line 2 only" on a two line phone. Problem was the result of line 1 (POTS) being a 4 line cord, when plugged into the "1&2 line" would apparently leave line 2 open (even though there was no (POTS) service on line 2.
