Title: Selective call forwarding
Post by: RalphS on July 05, 2021, 11:03:21 AM
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if I can do selective call forwarding with Obitalk and Google Voice.

My issue is that I ported over a longtime landline phone number to Google Voice. It was previously with Comcast (and Verizon before that). Comcast had a nice feature where, based on the incoming number, I could selectively forward the call to various cell phones. I used this to forward my parents' calls to my cell phone, and my wife's parents calls to her cell phone.

I would love to enable that again using my new setup of Google Voice and Obitalk - but it seems that Google Voice can't do selective call forwarding. Can Obitalk do this?

Yes, an OBi can be configured to do that.  Use Expert mode on the portal to change the X_InboundCallRoute of the Voice Service that GV is on, probably SP1.

Use your actual numbers instead of the following placeholders:

222 222 2222 Your parents' number
333 333 3333 Your cellphone number
444 444 4444 Your wife's parents' number
555 555 5555 Your wife's cellphone number

Amend the default ph to

{(+12222222222):sp1(3333333333)},{(+14444444444):sp1(5555555555)},ph
