Title: Using Obi 202 Attendant to place call via Ooma
Post by: ryoanji on September 20, 2012, 05:09:47 PM
Just a quick question: can I use Obi 202 auto attendant to place call via Ooma?

Thanks!

i don't think so. Your Ooma is a sip client, your Obi would connect to a sip server.

Thank you jimates for a prompt reply.  I am aware that I will not be able to do it directly, i.e. via sip settings.  But I thought I might connect Obi to Ooma as a phone service provider (I configured 110 Obi for my parents that way - I can via Obi network to their device and then place local calls in their country using Obi Attendant).  So, I was looking for a similar solution here.  But I just found this thread:

So, it looks like the answer is no?  It is really strange since Obi 202 is marketed as "more advanced" model (??)

Did anybody have any success in configuring Obi 202 phone port as "Line" port?  Or it is just not supported?

Thanks!

Yes, 'advanced" is a pretty loose term for the Obi202. Only the 110 which has a line port can be used that way.
