Title: How to directly forward incoming device to device calls to PHONE port? Post by: trekker on March 04, 2013, 12:35:23 am Hello,
Can someone please help me with this? I have two Obi 110 devices at different locations. I want that when device A calls device B, the caller at A should not hear the Auto attendant message and then has to press "1" to reach PHONE port. Rather, I want the caller at location A, that when he dials the Obi number for device B, he should be able to ring the phone at location B directly? Please help. Thanks. The simple answer is to log into OBi B's dashboard, go to "Circle of Trust" and delete OBi A from it. Fuller explanation and more precise result: The behaviour you describe results from OBi A being in OBi B's Circle of Trust. In OBi B there will be rules that look something like this: Voice Services -> OBiTALK Service -> InboundCallRoute: {(290123456|200123456)>(xx.):pli},{(290123456|200123456):aa},{ph} where 290123456 is OBi B's softphone number, 200123456 is the number of OBi A and pli is the OBi B's PrimaryLine name (sp1, sp2, or li). The first rule allows OBi A to dial directly through OBi B's Primary Line. This is known as single-stage dialling. The second rule allows access to OBi B's auto attendant. This is known as two-stage dialling. To stop OBi A from being directed to OBi B's auto attendant, you need to remove OBi A's number from the second rule. You need to end up with: Voice Services -> OBiTALK Service -> InboundCallRoute: {(290123456|200123456)>(xx.):pli},{(290123456):aa},{ph} This change can be made via the Obi Expert Configuration pages. From your OBi Dashboard, click on your OBi number and follow the prompts to get there. To change a value uncheck both boxes to the right of the value and leave them unchecked. After changing the values on one page, press submit at the bottom of the page and wait a few minutes for the Obi to reboot. Thanks a lot for detailed reply. I fully understood what you explained. But I think I myself have missed an important point and will try to further explain here, what I am trying to achieve: 1. Obi A device is simply connected to Internet, and has a phone attached to phone port. No SP1 and SP2 defined, no telco line (li) connected. 2a. Obi A user picks up the phone and wants to dial a number, since he does not have any SPs defined, and also does not have any telco lines connected, all he wants is that any number he calls through the phone simply gets routed to the pli of Obi B and continues from there. 2b. Same as 2a above but lets say if a telco line is connected, then how can he configure Obi A to differentiate between placed calls such that any call placed with area code 1 should be routed through Obi B's SP1 while other calls should be routed through local (li). 3. Also, if he dials a **9(Obi number) of Obi B, then the local phone attached to Obi B should ring. Thanks in advance for the help. http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=5076.msg32750#msg32750 It does not exactly answer your question, but will allow OBi A to use any of the services of OBi B, not only its Primary Line. It assumes that OBi A is completely removed from OBi B's Circle of Trust. It answers all your questions except 2b. If the above is almost right for you, then come back and we can try changing the digit maps to include your 2b idea. Anyone reading this should carefully consider the 911 / emergency numbers that the slave OBi might dial. If it is a long way from the master OBi, then it could be a problem. |
