Title: How can I stop GV sending VM notification to phone?
Post by: rshack on March 09, 2013, 01:36:18 PM
Upon receipt of GV VM, phone gets stutter-dial-tone (and flashing light) to notify us of new VM.  This is as it should be (although we use email enough that we don't need that notification).

However, after we listen to VM via online laptop, such that all VM's have been listened to, the phone continues to get VM notification even though there are no new VM's to listen to.  This is true even when VM's are archived via laptop.  The only way I know to stop the stutter-dial-tone (and flashing light on phone) is to call in via phone to listen to VM's, hear the verbal notification that there are no new VM's, and then hang up.  This is a bit of a pain.

1.  How can I get GV VM to stop telling phone there are VM's after I listen to them online?

2.  If there is no good answer to #1, how can I get GV VM to stop telling the phone about VM's at all?

thanks...

For 1. This is a symptom of having unread VMs in Trash, History, or some archive under GV. Both indicators should work correctly. It's discussed a lot on here, search for MWI and Archive, Trash, etc. And also see this recent thread: http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=5314.msg34465

For 2. If you have an Obi100 or 110, and assuming you are using the ObiTalk Portal:
- Via the setup wizard, uncheck 'Google Voicemail Notification'.
- or Via Expert Mode: since you said you hear Stutter Dialtone and see the Visual Indicator (these are two different configuration settings), this might mean you configured via 'Expert Mode', if true, then uncheck both MWIEnable (stutter) and X_VMWIEnable (visual) for whatever SPx you have configured for GV, under Voice Service > SPx Service > Calling Features.
