Title: Setting up 411 Directory Assistance Support
Post by: Smee on June 06, 2013, 08:29:24 PM
I just thought I would share this, since I haven't seen this discussed before, although I have seen plenty of discussions on adding 911.  I wanted to add 411 support, but didn't really want to pay for it.  It's not something I use often anyway and can certainly live without it.  Still, if it can be done why not add it.  ;D

Currently there are only two free 411 providers that I could find.  They are:

[24]7 Inc.
Toll free: 1-888-247-2425
Non-toll free: 1-330-247-7411

FREE-411
Toll free: 1-800-373-3411

I set up 411 service using the [24]7 Non-toll free number since I have Google Voice and it doesn't cost me anything.  To do that, I went to Obi Expert, then under Service Providers >> ITSP Profile A General, I changed the DigitMap from:

(1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*#]@@.)

to

(<411:18003733411>S0|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*#]@@.)

This seems to work fine for me, but if there is a better way to do it, please let me know.

Take care...

Smee

I can't imagine using 411 service.  Haven't had a need for it in many years.  Look it up on the computer...
