Title: Inability to call certain phone numbers
Post by: jjk99 on December 06, 2013, 06:15:36 am
I occasionally call in to ATT phone bridges (if thats the right term - they are conference call numbers) for conference calls to my company.  The dial in numbers are domestic us 877 numbers.  My obi/Google Voice based system often cannot call into them.  When i dial, nothing happens - the call fails to connect.  I am able to dial in with my Verizon iPhone with no problem.  I believe my company has a voip based phone system.  I also have had difficulty dialing into the same conference bridge with my Cisco softphone.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this or what is going on?

Thank you,

google voice blocks some teleconference numbers that happen to be routed through areas with high costs.  Try calling the number using google voice from the web interface and see if you have the same behavior.  If so, it is a GV problem, not an obi one.
