Title: Echo
Post by: mmsfoobi on March 05, 2014, 09:02:41 am

When I have a conversation with another person, the other person is hearing an echo where they hear their voice.

I have had this Obi202 for about 1 year. Using Google as VOIP provider. Nothing has changed. This echo problem just started in the last week. All variables are otherwise the same. I'm sure it's not my equipment. I use a headset. I also tested and verified this by calling myself on my cell phone and going outside. The echo is not being caused by a hardware/feedback type issue. It's something else.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot?

I have an Obi202.

You say nothing has changed.  What about the firmware?

Don't know if this is pertinent to your issue... but I had Vestalink with incoming calls being forwarded from my GV number (Obi 100).  I had several occasions over the past couple of weeks where my caller reported an echo, when I was hearing fine.  Usually I just called the person back and all was good.

This week I completed my port from GV to Vestalink.  Only been a couple of days, but so far, no reports of echoes.  Am thinking this may have had something to do with GV.

Just thought I would share.
