Title: LocalPhone & Obi202: outgoing calls will ring and then disconnect Post by: Studly on April 23, 2014, 02:40:48 pm I just signed up with LocalPhone and set it up for outgoing calls on my Obi202, but am having problems. Many calls work fine but about 50% of outgoing calls, particularly to certain area codes, ring a few times and then the call goes silent and disconnects. On one of the calls, the person who I called said she her phone rang, and when she answered, she talked and couldn't hear anything. So I think my outgoing calls are disconnecting when the recipient answers.
LocalPhone thinks the calls are connecting because they still bill me for the calls that don't go through. Also, what's up with LocalPhone's support? I emailed them about 10 days ago about this, got no reply except for the auto reply, sent a reminder email a few days ago with the ticket number listed, and still have gotten no response. Are they usually this bad? How long does LP support usually take to respond? Some calls will go through and some won't in any particular area code that we call. However, the ones that don't go through may be limited to those on cell phones ... possibly a certain carrier like Verizon. We can call other cell phones just fine, but certain numbers we call will not connect and they are usually on a cell phone.

My Obi works perfectly fine with Localphone. Come again? :) Not sure what DMZ or NAT is ... can you explain? I'm guessing I haven't done that yet. In order to find out, you have to access on line your router/gateway . You will get to the list of connected devices- like your computer and your Obi.
Put your Obi into DMZ- which means that all traffic will pass through to your Obi.( Do NOT do this to your computer!!) |
