Title: Error on OBI status page
Post by: voip4me on November 18, 2014, 07:05:48 PM
My Google Voice is working fine both incoming and outgoing but the online status page shows offline. Does anybody else see this:

Thank you for the reply but, I prefer to use the portal. There seems to be a problem with the portal us it shows me offline while my Google Voice is working just fine on both outgoing and incoming calls. I even rebooted my OBI 100 and the portal still shows offline. My question was anyone else seeing this in the portal as well.

I have recently noticed that my Obi200 is unable to connect to the OBITalk service. It is connecting just fine to all other services I have configured on SP1 through SP4, and I can make and receive calls using those services.

Because the Obi device can't reach the OBI servers it will show as offline on the OBI Talk portal.

Checking the status by accessing the device admin page directly I can see in the ObiTALK Service Status that it keeps trying to connect to ObiTALK through the various ports with no success.

I even moved my Obi device to the DMZ and gave it the Google DNS to make sure it is not a firewall or provider DNS issue. But nothing.

My Obitalk portal shows that my Obi200 is offline as well - SP1 (GV) is "Offline", while SP2 (Phonepower) is blank.  Calling both numbers properly rings the phone line, is able to connect, and function as expected.  All Obi200 status lights are normal, as is our internet service by all measures.

Is there currently a problem with the Obitalk portal / dashboard?

I don't think it's the dashboard but something more involved as my ip phones are not responding either.  And the offline status alert coincides with when my ip phones stopped responding altogether.  While I don't mind so much the portal showing offline, I hope that the issues with the ip phones will get resolved soon.

I'm also seeing GV offline today, and I can't do updates from the OBI dashboard.   This was working fine until today.

Ahhh, portal now connecting and working normally as of 11:40 CST.  No change to the Obi unit at home...

Works fine to me now as well.
Would be nice to have a ObiTALK network status dashboard so we can see when there are any issues.

I had a similar issue a few days ago with first my OBi100, then later with my OBi110. The false "OFFLINE" status did not clear until I used the web interface to reboot the OBi devices.  I have seen this same false "OFFLINE" status several times before over the last several weeks.  Most often, I just wait after I verify that I can still make and receive calls and the issue clears up without any intervention from me.

I did not see the issue on my OBi202 or my new OBi200 this time and I've only noticed the issue on the OBi202 a few times before.

Thank you all for your responses. The portal now shows me back online as well.

I also experienced the "OFFLINE" problem earlier today on two of three OBi devices that were all functioning properly.  On my OBi202, SP1, which is GV with a ported in number, was OFFLINE while SP2, with a GV assigned number was normal.  On an OBi100, with PhonePower as SP1, everything was normal.  The third device, an OBi200, with GV as SP1, and with a ported in number, also reflected the OFFLINE status.

Is this coincidental or is there a problem when GV is the SP and you have ported in a number?

a bit late to the party, but my issues have also been resolved, for now.

my ip phones are down and my dashboard confirms that I'm offline right now.  Perhaps they're running holiday maintenance?

My Obi200 is showing up as offline in the portal today. I know people always say this but nothing has changed on my end.  Both of my google voice numbers and my callcentric service work both incoming and outgoing. I tried re-adding the obi to obitalk and the 4 digit code makes it from the obi to the portal but it doesn't bring my obi back online.

This is really too bad as I was talking up the obi at thanksgiving dinner today, telling everyone how much money it saves and how easy it is to use. Well maybe not so much. I'm a network engineer and I'm willing to tinker and put up with a certain amount of flakiness but regular folks are not. It needs to just work.

I got an OBi200 from the Newegg sale awhile back and thought I would Put it to use. I usually configure my OBi's locally and not on the portal. I wanted to get one of my Phoenix GV numbers running as the server I was using on the Simon GV Gateway has been changed and no longer works. I am getting "Connecting to 74.125.25.125" but it is working ok.

I'm seeing my OBITALK portal OFFLINE and the OBI local interface showing "Acquiring" for the OBITALK service on the device.

This leads me to believe that OBITALK is having issues.

My parent's obi200 shows "offline" on the portal even after power cycling the obi & router.
Funny thing is that I'm able to write to their obi200 speed dial slots OK but cannot backup the device configuration.
Rather annoying since they're 30mi away.  :-\

The problems started yesterday. I can make GV calls but trying to call any OBI directly or even the echo test gives me a recorded error message. I opened a ticket but I am sure Obihai is aware of this. I wish they had a service status page to announce such issues.

For me as well all 4 SP's on my 202 are showing and no big "offline" notice.

thank you for the update, Irosenman. Once I saw your post, I power cycled my obi202 and I'm back up as of a minute ago.

But the 222 222 222 echo test number is still not working.

cool. so, four power cycles later, it looks like I've confirmed that my ip phones aren't working at this time, just in case anyone else out there is having issues.

My OBI200 is back online on the Obitalk dashboard. I entered a trouble ticket but never got any acknowledgement of it :( Obihai should see how callcentric's TT system works - its done right.

I can call my Obi from the Obitalk dashboard but **9 222 222 222 gives error 404, even though the OBiTALK Service Status is "Normal (User Mode) (0);ex-addr=71.191.249.246:10060(10060)". I don't actually call anyone using the OBiTALK service so its not a big deal but it is annoying to someone like me that likes things to be "right"

I should post this birds phone number for the echo test.
