Title: Managing OBis
Post by: baxtr on May 24, 2011, 03:03:20 PM
Assume that I have several OBis that are registered to the same or different accounts and the logon credentials are known for all accounts. Is it possible to manage remote OBis settings through the OBi Expert Configuration of the OBITALK Portal even though they have different external WAN-IP addresses?

yes. You enter the expert configuration for each device independently. If the devices are in different accounts, you sign into the separate Obitalk accounts and then manage the device. If they are in the same account, you click on the one you want to mange in your dashboard, and then enter the expert configuration for that device.

I cannot find the item for syslog (or any other System Management items for that matter) under the expert configuration on the portal.  Does anyone else see it?

Thanks.

Logging OBi Device Messages Using Syslog
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:17:36 AM »
-------------------------------------------------------------

Step 2: Configure the OBi's parameters for where to send debug messages.
Open the OBi's webpage (http://OBi-IP-address) and navigate to System Management / Device Admin / Syslog.
Fill-in the "Server" parameter with x.y.w.z, and "Port" parameter ppppp – if different than default (514).
Note that ppppp must be in the range 1 - 65535.

Capturing Messages via Syslog: OBi100 / OBi110
Note:  If your OBi device is managed from within OBiTALK, you have the option of configuring the syslog parameters from the OBiTALK-based OBi Expert Configuration web pages.

it is not in obiexpert.
system management is part of your device portal and not managed via the cloud.
so, login to your device and then you will see it.

As a feature,it would be good if we can do some of the system administration via the Cloud
