Can I use my OBI110 without having to pay a $10 annual support contract?

I been using my OBI 110 for 3 years without ever having to pay a $10 annual fee. I did a complete
reset and wanted to reactivate it in a new seperate account. Obihai will not let me activate it unless
I pay a $10 annual "support" fee . I never ever had to pay a fee to update the firmware on any device I own. Can someone assist me? All I want to do is setup Google voice

Ya know, neither have I. AFAIK, Obihai is breaking (troubling) new ground here.

Upgrade your firmware manually and you should be able to configure your device without paying the $10.
