Obi202 SP1 set up - newbie needs help
(1/1)
obcity:
Hi, I am just going through the set up process for my Obi202. I am configuring my SP1 (voip.ms). On the page the last two fields are username and password. Do I make up another username and password for this? Or are these the ones I already registered on Obitalk with?
Hovering over the ? information beside username, it just says: "Your account will be used in the Obi's authusername parameter". I don't know what this means.
Thanks.
N7AS:
You woulld enter the username and password from the SIP credentials you obtain from voip.ms.
Lavarock7:
With Voip.Ms you get an account number when you sign up similar to 123456. You would enter that as the name.
If you created subaccount like 123456_obi then that is your name.
The password is whatever you assigned to the main account or the subaccount.
I particularly use subaccounts because I want to use Zoiper to connect and have Obi's and other devices and each one is on a separate subaccount.
obcity:
I see, so it's the SIP username and password from my voip.ms account.
Thanks. That worked. Looks like I have the obi202 registered now.

I had a similar issue.
We need to deal with three different Logins (plus a pin number) when setting up OBihai adapter:
1) http://www.obitalk.com Login ID/Password
2) Voip provider (e.g. Voip.MS) Login ID/Password
3) OBihai box Login ID/Password
So it's relatively easy to confuse all these logins.
It's a design defect and should be fixed.
Names of these logins should be made more specific (e.g. like on my list above).
