Auto Switching to SP2 if call to SP1 fails

My situation is that I have some automated equipment that only ever dials 1234567 connected to the Phone port. I have VoIP provider 1 details entered into SP1 and different VoIP provider settings entered into SP2.

I would like calls to be connected to SP1 if available and SP2 if SP1 is not available. I have read the Admin manual but cannot see any way to accomplish this. Did I miss something, or is this a non-starter?

You could try using Trunk Group 1 as your PHONE Port -> PriomaryLine.  It won't auto switch to SP2 if a call on SP1 fails, but it will use SP2 for the call if SP1 is unavailable for any reason.

by unavailable, do you mean when registration fails on SP1?

Building on this topic, if the automated equipment were able to dial a second phone number of say 9999999, would it be possible to trap that number in the digit plan and make all calls to 9999999 go via SP2 ?

Yes, or all sessions in use.

Specific numbers or number patterns can be forced out a specific trunk using rule(s) in a DigitMap.

Cool - Thanks. One last one.... if we were able to program the equipment to dial a number starting with **2 for example **2 1234567 - I assume any numbers dialed after the **2 would automatically go out via SP2 ?

If you're talking about the equivalent of a person dialing on the telephone connected to the OBi's PHONE Port, the number dialed must match an SP2 DigitMap rule for the call to be sent out SP2.  For example, if the SP2 DigitMap expects 7-digit numbers and you dial **2 1234567 123, then that dialed number won't qualify for being sent out SP2.  **2 1234567 would.

If you dial **2 1234567 and then 123 after the call is to 1234567 is completed, the 123 DTMF tones will be sent out SP2.
