Is it possible to do this? I.e., dial a number from Google Voice or Contacts on my computer or tablet, then switch call to the Obi. With my old land line it was easy...

Hi:

No, not exactly.

However, if you configure your Google Voice account and your OBi to forward calls to a regular telephone number, vs. using Google Chat, then you can use Google Voice's click-to-call feature.  In this scenario, you'd click the red and white CALL button on your Google Voice web page, then enter (or paste) a number into the dialog box, and GV will call you back on the forwarding telephone number to bridge the call.  Many of us use a free NY State DID number from Callcentric as the forwarding phone for GV inbound calls.
