Synchronization of device configuration with OBiTalk and OBiExpert Configuration
cracker:
The configuration of the OBi100 device (available via the IP address) changes when I use *72xxxxxxxxxx to set up call forwarding.
Does this change ever show up in either the OBiTalk configuration or the OBiExpert configuration available via OBiTalk?
If I set call forwarding in the OBiTalk / OBiExpert configurations will that change be transferred to the OBi100? When?
Is there a general discussion of the synchronization of these configurations somewhere in the documentation?
Thanks.

Whatever configuration parameter values are displayed in web pages from the device's internal web server are the actual values that the device is using at that moment in time.
Unless Obitalk provisioning is disabled, values entered via the local web pages will sooner or later be overwritten by the values on the Obitalk portal.
cracker:
The OBiTalk provisioning method parameter in the device configuration for this OBi100 is now set to "Periodically" with the interval parameter set to 86400 secs (60 days). With these settings, is it correct that every 60 days the device will be updated with the parameters from the OBiTalk "expert" configuration?
If I want to stay away from synchronization problems and conflicts between the device configuration and the OBiTalk configurations, is it better to disable OBiTalk provisioning and just use the device UI or is it better to use only the OBiTalk configuration tool and never use the device UI? If you just use OBiTalk, would you set the provisioning interval to something like 3 minutes or something to make updating more frequent? Alternatively, is it possible to force an update of the device configuration from OBiTalk?
Thanks.
SteveInWA:
The OBiTALK portal will push its configuration to the device every time the device reboots. The parameter you're looking at comes into play if/when the device hasn't been rebooted in that time interval.
If you stick with configuration via the OBiTALK interface, there's no reason to also use the local web server interface.
azrobert:
If you don't want OBiTalk to automatically download a configuration, you must disable OBiTalk Provisioning (Method=Disabled).
I don't know the answer to your question about synchronization. It seems to me OBiTalk shouldn't override parameters set with a star code. Why don't you test synchronization yourself? Set call forwarding and then reboot the OBi100. Log into the OBi100 locally and see if the parms have changed.
