OBI202 can't access via IP to apply firmware

Jeanne:
I've been reading for hours, trying to get our OBi202 back up (for one GV and one Anveo line). Hope I didn't miss the answer to our question:

Downloaded the latest 202 firmware, BUT can't access our 202 via its IP. Confirmed the IP is correct, but the only response is "The requested URL was not found!" The good news is, this confirms that 202 is accepting the connection, because using any other IP simply goes nowhere. Using advanced mode to change the IP, changing the port, moves the 202 around on our LAN, but never can we get past the error message.

We tried hard rebooting via phone-access reset, and via button on box, we deleted the box from the portal, reset it, then added back. Nope....nothing get us past the IP access error message. Therefore, we can't apply the firmware. Until we do that, we can't get back the bogus Security message that keeps us from reconfiguring the 202 to put it back online.

It's as if internally, the 202 wants to show an internal web page that isn't there. We tried to guess at various internal page names, no luck....does anyone know a page name to try?

We also had to update and reconfigure an Obi100, that worked, so we know how it should go. But our Obi202 is quickly turning into an expensive doorstop (not to mention the phone calls we are not getting). Any help is appreciated.

Taoman:
Access the OBi Expert Configuration Menu on the OBitalk web portal for your device.
Go to:
System Management -> Auto Provisioning

Change "Method" to System Start (after unchecking both boxes to right of the field)
Change FirmwareURL to http://fw.obihai.com/OBi202-3-1-0-5285.fw (after unchecking both boxes to right of the field)

Submit and save your changes so your device will restart. Upon restart, firmware update should begin.

After new firmware is applied change "Method" back to disabled. See if you can now access local web interface.

Mango:
Is your OBi202 behind another router, and is your computer connected to the same router?

If so, perhaps another way to solve your problem is to use OBi Expert Configuration and navigate to System Management >> Device Admin >> AccessFromWAN.  Be sure this is checked.

This is safe to do, as long as your OBi202 is behind another router and not in its DMZ.

I suspect either Taoman's or my solution should work.

Jeanne:
Taoman's method did the firmware update and reboot that got me past the nonsensical "security problem" (which really just convinced us to never buy Obihai products again). Thank you both!

I then reprovisioned GV and Anveo, both are working.

However, the URL to the local IP still does not work. I've verified the IP, definitely hitting Obi202, but it only response with "The requested URL was not found!" So, if anyone knows of a page name/path to add to the basic IP URL I can try, maybe I can get to a real page and then figure out why it's defaulting to a non-existent page.

Mango:
Did you get the chance to enable AccessFromWAN yet?
