Check GV messages

There is no local GV number for my area...so I got one in a neighboring town...

But now how do I check my messages?  I have to dial a long distance number?

There isn't a way for the OBI to log in and play them?

Or I need to always have a computer with me to log into GV and play the messages there?

Simply call your Google Voice number from your Google Voice number and the voicemail system will answer.

You can also have your voice messages emailed to you.

It is the obvious things that are so difficult...

GV is not setup as the primary dialer, so I have to dial the **1 for the GV account then my number...

The instructions said dial my number, but I didn't realize it would work through GV like that.
