In case you didn't get the email notice, see the attached sale flyer.

Don't flame me if a) you miss the sale, b) it's sold out, or c) you don't like the price...

Ember1205

Have been looking for the deal today and it seems nowhere to be found. This includes searching the "upcoming" deals and can't find anything there either.

Ember1205

Has ANYONE found this deal today? I've been through absolutely everything I can think of on Amazon with the mobile app, web browsers, and search engines. NOTHING. It doesn't show up as current, missed, upcoming, etc.

Nope. I checked every single Lightening deal available (including upcoming) and I can't find it. This has happened before where Obihai says Amazon will have a deal on OBi units but it never happens.

I would wait a couple days for the Newegg sale. I'd bet money that one will actually happen.

Ember1205

Is it just me, or are these "sales" notoriously unreliable in general? They don't happen, prices are wrong, dates are wrong in the announcements, etc.

I've never seen a company make it so hard to actually purchase a product on sale.

Affirmative.

Agreed.
Have you ever seen a company that would allow multiple spam posts with links to pornographic sites continue to remain on their company user support forum for several days? I haven't.
Take a look at the 3 threads below this one.

Couldn't agree more. I reported all of them myself, and also reported ones from DAYS ago that haven't been pulled down.

Not that much of a sale price but still a good price for a very useful device.

Thanks but people are looking for a sale price like these:
QuoteNewegg Promotions:

Obihai OBi200 VoIP Telephone Adapter (Google Voice & SIP) [newegg.com] - Available at 12:01 AM PT on 11/27/16 thru 11:59 PM PT on 11/28/16
Sale Price: $37.99 + Free Shipping

Obihai OBi202 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router (Google Voice, SIP & T.38 Fax Support) [newegg.com] - Available from 12:01 AM PT to 11:59 PM PT on 11/30/16
Sale Price: $55.99 + Free Shipping

SteveInWA

Yah, there has been a history of screw-ups with the Amazon "Lightening Deals" promotions.

I suggest simply waiting for the Newegg deals, which have been quite reliable in being available "as advertised".

Ember1205

Then why bother with the Amazon sale at all? In the last six months, I believe I have received three alerts regarding Amazon specials and NONE of them have been right (including a mix-up on the part of Obi for telling us the wrong item was on sale on a particular date).

Best price for a 200 I've seen for awhile.......

QuoteObihai OBi200 VoIP Telephone Adapter - Jet.com @ $34.85 (free shipping)

$49.79 - 30% off (GMA30) = $34.85 (plus tax)

Jet.com has 30% Off when you enter promo code GMA30

https://jet.com/product/Obihai-OBi200-VoIP-Telephone-Adapter-with-1-Phone-Port-and-USB/3af201fa38324931823a3d0e7ec49ca1?jcmp=afl:link:lw9MynSeamY:414378:1:10&siteID=lw9MynSeamY-IT1YiRdBO5_fr1wBc7krTA

OR, just wait until tomorrow and buy it from Newegg for a bit less, depending on your location and sales tax laws.

Jet.com:  $47.79 - $14.94 promo code + $3.31 WA sales tax for me, = $38.16.

Newegg.com (assuming it's not sold out or otherwise borked up tomorrow):  $37.99

While the price difference is negligible, not getting on the spam marketing list from a company I haven't dealt with before is personally worth it to me.

Ember1205

Thanks for the code, Taoman. I bought two of the 200's. I'll wait to get a 202 from NewEgg since the max discount from Jet is $30 and you can only use the code once per household.

Good point. But we live in a state with a high state sales tax rate. For many folks jet.com would be cheaper. But as you say, don't really want to get on another spam list although I have heard some good things about jet.com.

Ember1205

Why does the OBi202 on jet.com say that Google Voice isn't supported after March / '14? There's no comment about it on the OBi200 which is odd.

That is just old verbiage from when it was thought Obihat ATAs would no longer work for Google Voice back in early 2014. It should have been removed from the site but obviously wasn't.
When you consider that both the 200 and 202 use the exact same firmware it becomes obvious it is in error.

As of almost 4 P.M. PST, I'm seeing Amazon listing the OBi200 at $35.95 with free shipping only if the purchase is over $49. Since it is a lightning deal, who knows how many minutes it will be there for?

Thanks. Kind of what I had hoped would be the case, but it seemed odd that the 202 had the clause and the 200 didn't. I didn't know if maybe it was because they had old stock of them or something.

Shipping is free with Prime and there appears to be no tax. This would be the cheapest for me.
