Updating from my old OBI100 to OBI200

Hi All:

I just bought an OBI200 to replace my OBI100. Is there anyway to save the setup from the 100 to use on the 200 to make sure all my settings are carried forward without having to reinput them line by line?

Many thanks,

P.

Log in locally to your OBi100, click on System Management, then on Device Update.  Use the Backup Configuration option to save most settings to a file on your computer.

You can then use that file to import those settings to your new 200.  Either via the Restore Configuration option on the corresponding page on the 200 or into the Expert Mode on the Obitalk portal.  Which you use depends on whether you configure locally or on the portal.

Note that passwords are NOT saved in the backup file so you will need to re-enter those (eg AuthPassword under SIP Credentials).  I don't guarantee that everything else will be transferred but it should save you some work.

If you have GV configured, I expect (don't know for sure) that you will need to do that from scratch (using the portal).

BTW are you changing out your old OBi100 because it has died or because you have misinterpreted the End of Life email and panicked or some other reason?

You must have ESP :) Yes, it was the email and I panicked . My OBI100 has been running since 2011 without a problem. Perhaps I should return the 200? And, I use Anveo (Free account) as my VOIP provider.

The email stated: " higher-performance and more advanced features".  So are you saying that OBi100 and OBi200 are functionally identical?  Meaning we were tricked (misinterpretation)?

drgeoff:
Yes the 200 has higher performance and more features than the 100. But if a 100 is fully meeting your needs, a 200 will not meet them any better.
