Google Shutting Down Google Talk - Any Effect on Obi Devices?

Google announced that it is shutting down Google Talk here: https://gsuiteupdates.googleblog.com/2017/03/updates-in-g-suite-to-streamline-hangouts-and-gmail.html

In the post it notes the following:
"Third-party XMPP clients will continue to work with Hangouts for 1-on-1 chats. XMPP federation with third-party services providers will no longer be supported starting June 26."

Will this have any effect on Obi products?

Sorry to inconvenience you. I actually did browse through this forum, you know, the one that states it is specific to Google Voice, before posing the question.
