Issue with Callcentric and Obihai 202 CNAM

I recently set up an Obihai 202 with two Google Voice lines (SP1 "land line" and SP2 fax line). I then created a free Callcentric number for e911 and CNAM.

I added the Callcentric number and password into SP3 and forwarded to it from my Google Voice account that's associated with SP1.

I tested the Callcentric number by calling in from a separate phone. It works as it should with Call ID. However, when I call the SP1 number Call ID does not work and simply says out of area as it did previously.

I may have missed a simple step along the way. Any advice for setting up an Obi202 with SP1 GV, SP2 GV Fax, and SP3 Callcentric? I'd like Call ID to work when calling in the SP1 number that is now linked to my Callcentric account. Thank you

Taoman

Go here and make sure Callcentric number is checked and that Google Chat is unchecked.

That was it! I had seen that step but thought it was referring to "Forward messages to linked numbers" here: https://voice.google.com/settings

I had been trying to find "Google Chat" but couldn't find the page you linked for the life of me and all setup tutorials I found simply linked Voice.Google.com/settings

Thank you!

Encountered another issue. It appears incoming faxes are no longer working on SP2 after setting up Callcentric but they were previously. Google voice rings through my computer when faxes come in but they no longer make it to the machine. Google chat is unchecked on both accounts (SP1 and SP2). Thoughts?

Short answer:  check the box to the left of Google Chat for your second Google Voice account (the one you configured on SP2, for fax.

Longer answer:  I think you don't understand how this works.  When someone calls your inbound Google Voice number, Google Voice will then simultaneously ring ALL check-marked 10-digit "linked" or "forwarding" telephone numbers*.  Google Voice will also simultaneously forward those calls to "Google Chat" if check-marked.  Think of Google Chat as a forwarding destination, just like 10-digit telephone numbers.

OBi devices can act as SIP "user agents" or clients for SIP VoIP telephone service providers.  You set up one (and only one) SIP UA:  SP3 for your inbound Callcentric telephone number.  OBi devices can also act as Google Chat clients.  You set up SP1 to act as a Chat client for GV account #1, and SP2 as a Chat client for GV account #2.

So:  when someone calls your GV #1, it will ring your OBi SP3, because you have disabled Chat and enabled the CC number for that GV account.  When someone calls your GV #2, it will ring your OBi SP2, because you only enabled Chat on that GV account.

*ring behavior is optionally altered by setting GV ring schedules and/or groups of numbers.

SteveInWA gave you a thorough answer above.

Just curious why you decided to uncheck Chat for SP2? I never said anything about doing that. You only uncheck Chat for the account that you want your inbound calls routed to your Callcentric account.  Capiche?
