Obi 1062 Intercom

We have 3 Obi 1062 phones and would like to be able to push one of the buttons to initiate an intercom communication with either of the 2 other phones. How is this enabled?

azrobert:
I don't know how to setup an intercom and since I only have one OBi1032 I have no interest to learn how. However, I know how to call another OBi device using a programmable key. Use OBi expert to make the following change.

IP Phone -> Programmable Keys -> Key x
Function: Presence Monitor
Service: OBiTalk
Number: 610123456

Replace 610123456 with the OBi number of the target OBi1062
Take the phone off-hook and press the program key.

OBi numbers are listed on the OBiTalk dashboard
Make sure there isn't any code in the receiving OBi1062 that will send the call to the Auto Attendant. The default is to send the call to the phone, but sometimes code is added by OBiTalk to send the call to the AA. It will be found here:

Voice Services -> OBiTalk Service -> InboundCallRoute

I have two 1062 phones, I have setup a link between the two and assigned an extension (20, 21) to both units.  When I select the ObiLINE button and dial the extension the other phone rings.  Also, I've used *96 "barge in" to simulate the auto answer intercom feature found on most phones.  I'm new to this, so I'm still learning the ins and outs.

Hello cmenow ...

I have 4 1062s and I would like to use them in a similar way ... intercom phone-to-phone (without using my outside VOIP provider, possibly just on the internal LAN or using the OBITalk Network).

And, I'd like to be able to the barging function too.   I had many exchanges with others on this forum and with OBI itself, and no one was able to help.

Can you please provide me any details on how to do what you say you've done?

Thanks!

kayrjay...

I simply dial *96 and then the OBi number (or extension) and it allows me to break through whatever is happening on that extension as an intercom call.  Not exactly what I want to do all the time, meaning, I would rather just have the extension ring if that extension is on another call, otherwise, the auto answer intercom would occur.  For some reason, i can't get this setup correctly.

I linked the two units using the "link devices" in the OBiTALK portal settings, see attached.
