Google Voice Stopped Working?
DJDJ:
It appears to be working now.

Many thanks to the tech folks at Obi for resolving this issue so quickly. Less than 12 hours. While this was inconvenient, it forced me to create a back up plan for calls. My Obi is used as a land line replacement for my home phone. I don't get many calls on that number, but I'm between jobs and would hate to miss an opportunity because my phone isn't working.
Since Google Voice wasn't down, I added my cell phone as a secondary phone. This way, any calls would come through on my cell until the Obi got re-connected. Some of your are going "duh" but that's Ok. I've only been an Obi customer for about 4 months, and I'm still learning. Hopefully if anyone else didn't think of this "back up" plan, maybe now they might say, yea, that's not a bad idea. As a bonus, I don't have to forward my home phone since it's already paired with my cell now. I know, "duh" again.
For what it's worth.

scott,
i've been using obihai for several years and am STILL learning, so do not feel bad :)
i KEPT my landline number, becuse my utilities, etc, are registered with that as demographic info (other accounts also), and it is too hard to figure out who had that number.
but we ported it to google voice. I use Obihai to get those calls DIRECTLY in the house, BUT we also have that number ported to BOTH my wife and my cell phones.
this way, if we are ever away from home, we still can receive ALL calls that come to us; either the prior landline, now at google voice, and also our cells.
at least then i can take care of any emergency calls, and reply to other calls at our leisure.
the obihai box, with the ANVEO 911 feature added, is fantastic
good luck
nick
