If i were to buy a OBi2182, would i also have to buy a obi200 or obi202 for Google Voice? Or is this feature built in?
The OBi2182 supports up to 6 VoiP accounts.  Any mix of industry standard SIP and GV's consumer offering.

Those are two different ways to make Voice over IP  (VoIP) telephone calls.  The OBi 200 is an Analog Telephone Adapter.  It connects a regular old analog telephone, via it's RJ-11 cord and plug, to circuitry in the OBi to convert it into digital signals over the Internet.  The 2182 is a telephone that has the digital VoIP circuitry already built in, so it doesn't need to convert anything the old analog signals.

Wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself.
OBi2182 reaches End of Service date (7-31-22) before OBi2xx series (12-18-23).
Does this mean an OBi2182 can no longer be added to the OBi Portal after the end of this month?

No it doesn't for now.  I was able to add an Obi2182 yesterday 11/6/2022

Hello,

I've had a ObiHai 202 for about 10 years now and very pleased.  Yes, it is a little quirky sometimes, but when it is setup correctly ...it just works reliably.

Since it is END of LIFE as of December 2023, I'm looking for a replacement and that might be a OBi 2182.

I only need a single line for a residential connection.  This is for my 93 year old mother who is hearing impaired, but still hears if we talk loud.  The color screen is a BIG plus for her.

Any suggestions?

Also, forgot to mention ..

yes, we use Google Voice with the ObiHai 202 ... and want to continue to use Google Voice with the replacement phone / adapter.

All constructive suggestions welcome !

I have a 2182 that was previously used on someone's Obi account.

If I Factory Default it, will I be able to add it to my own Obi account?

Only if it was deleted from that previous user's account.  That can only be done from within that account.  Resetting an OBi does NOT remove it from an account.  An OBi still on an account cannot be added to another account.
