OBi1062 - has an RJ11 phone jack, yet you can't connect a traditional phone?

I'd like to add a traditional cordless phone to the OBi1062. I don't think I can? Am I correct?

No!

The extra jacks are for a headset (RJ-9) and a RJ-14 (AUX) jack for connection to business-class headsets that have a feature known as Electronic Hook Switch, or EHS.  There are two RJ-45 Ethernet jacks.  One goes to your switch (SW) or router, and the other goes to a downstream computer or other device, as a convenience.  They are not for connecting other phones.  If you use a flashlight and/or magnifying glass, you can see the icons next to the jacks.

If you want other phones, then either buy more OBi phones, or buy an OBi 200 or 202, and plug in your existing analog phones into the 200 or 202's phone jack(s).

I thought there might be a work around ... perhaps a wireless RJ-9 headset is my solution (rather than a cordless phone). I will look into them.

Really just want to be able to go into a quiet room if the office is loud.

Understood.  Depending on your budget, and how far away from the phone you need to go, you can use a typical Bluetooth headset, as used with mobile phones, with a range of about a hundred feet, or, for more money, you can get a DECT 6.0 wireless headset from Jabra or Plantronics, with a range halfway down the block.  The DECT 6.0 headsets have far better sound quality and range, and batteries that last through a full day of calling.  I use the Jabra PRO 9470, for example.

We actually got it to work with what we have ... my business partner has a com pilot II and it connects to the OBi1062 through bluetooth. He can actually answer and walk around remotely. He has hearing aids and it syncs to those without the need for a headset.
