**5 from an attached phone seems to be special (at least on an OBi110). I cannot find anything in the docs to explain it. I stumbled on one post that seemed to indicate it may be related to adding an OBi device. Why do I care?
I have had an OBi110 for several years and I like it in part for its Line port (don't want to pay $40 or so for USB Line add-on). As it is EOL and GV may fail to work (still works for me on it), I purchased an OBi200 last week just for GV. So I have phone and FiOS VoIP line attached to OBi110 as well as a GV number on SP1. SP2 has SIP for use with Zoiper on my android phone. The OBi200 just has a local net connection and currently a GV number on SP3.
I wanted to route numbers dialed from my phone with prefix **1 to OBi110 SP1 and **3 thru **6 to OBi200 SP1 thru SP4 respectively. And I started with a GV on OBi200 SP3 so that would be **5 by my mapping. When I tried it, I got a message about sending the number to the server. What? Finally I pointed all of **3 thru **6 to SP3 and found that all of them worked just fine except **5. And that is what raised the question about **5 being treated so specially. I have since changed my mapping to **[3467] bridging to OBi200 SP1-4 respectively.
Clearly something grabs **5 before it ever is seen in the OutboundCallRoute of PH. I tried to do a lot of searching in the OBiHai docs as well as googling but found nothing on **5. I know there are *** codes like ***1 for network ip.
Can anyone enlighten me about **5?
