Simonics Stopped Working for Incoming Calls
SteveInWA:
So, you had some left-over setting on SP1 from the previous configuration.
For anyone else reading, if/when this happens, and you can't figure out why, the easiest thing to do is to:
Delete your OBi completely off of the OBiTALK dashboard, and wait a few minutes while OBiTALK remotely resets the device.Restore the OBi to factory defaults by picking up the attached phone and keying in ***8 then 1 to confirm, then wait while it performs the factory restore, which takes several minutes. Do not proceed until the power LED stops blinking.Add the OBi back to the OBiTALK web portal by using the **5 procedure.Configure the SP again to use GVGW.
The delay is normal when using the gateway. If it bothers you, consider buying a new OBi device (ATA or IP phone), which natively supports Google Voice, and won't have that delay.

It stopped working again.
This time it rings the home phone, but when picking up the phone (on even the first ring) the person doesn't hear anything. The dialer hears many rings and then it goes to Google voice voicemail. So basically the ringing is going through but its not connecting the call....
This was working fine 24 hours ago and I haven't made any changes...

and tried deleting SP1 and entered my info into SP2 and the same thing happened.
Incoming calls rings but call doesn't connect and the dialer (after a bunch of rings) goes to voicemail even if the ringing phone is picked up.
Is the Simonics gateway overloaded?
billsimon:
No. Your symptoms are probably from NAT or SIP ALG causing you problems. The symptoms are that signaling works ok (ringing, calling out) but there is one-way or no audio. SIP can be a little more difficult to configure than Google Voice and more susceptible to router/firewall/ISP interference.

sorry but I don't understand....
I have Fios as my ISP, and other than the standard router based firewall that doesn't cause me any issues ever there shouldn't be any firewall blocking.
Also, I tried deleting/factory resetting/re-setting up my Obi110. The first call went through after a 4 second delay.
However incoming calls 2,3,4... are not working.
Again, they ring the phone, but the person picks up doesn't hear anything, and the one dialing in (from an outside line) just hears rings until getting to voicemail.
So what do I do?
