Can't dial International numbers

I want to call International numbers going out SP2 so I added
{011xx.:sp2}, to the beginning of my Phone PORT > OutboundCallRoute.

Just as a test, when I dialed my iNum number using the format 011 883 5100 xxxx xxxx I got a message saying "The number 0118835100xxxxxxxx was rejected by the service provider. Reason 480".
I can dial this number through a voice gateway ok.

When I dial a UK number 011 44 etc. nothing happens.

Where have I gone wrong?

{011xx.:sp2} would send '011xx.' out the SP2 trunk.  Embedded DigitMaps must be enclosed in parenthesis.
While placing such a rule in the OutboundCallRoute wouldn't be my first choice, what you're looking for is {(011xx.):sp2}.

N7AS

I tried that and had the same results. That error message was actually "reason 484" whatever that means.

484 means 'Address Incomplete' (whatever that is  :) ).

What does your Call History show as the number sent out SP2?

N7AS

Here is what I have:

Call 4   08/18/2011    18:03:02

Terminal ID   PHONE1   SP2
Peer Name
Peer Number   **2011883510008268993   011883510008268993
Direction   Outbound   Outbound
18:03:02   New Call
18:03:09      End Call (484 Address Incomplete)

and here is one I tried to a UK number that didn't go anywhere (no error message)

Call 2   08/18/2011    18:05:40

Terminal ID   PHONE1   SP2
Peer Name
Peer Number   **20114401664485020   0114401664485020
Direction   Outbound   Outbound
18:05:40   New Call
18:05:45   End Call

Does the provider on SP2 want international calls to start with 011?  Many want you to simply send them CountryCode + number.

RonR

I assume you're aware that 883510008268993 is an iNum number.  Does the provider on SP2 accept iNum numbers?

Also, why are you dialing **2 + number?  Your rule matches 011xx. not **2011xx.

N7AS

I tried just the country code without the 011... same results.
I know that's an iNum number... it's mine.
I am dialing **2 to force SP2 (Localphone is my SP2 provider and is where I got my iNum)
Like I said before, I can call my own iNum number using a voice gateway through sip.inum.net and it works ok. I use *2 as the trunk identifier.

I think you're confused about the workings the PHONE Port DigitMap/OutboundCallRoute.

Given an OutboundCallRoute of:

{(011xx.):sp2},{([1-9]x?*(Mpli)):pp},{(<#:>|911):li},{**0:aa},{***:aa2},{(<**1:>(Msp1)):sp1},
{(<**2:>(Msp2)):sp2},{(<**8:>(Mli)):li},{(<**9:>(Mpp)):pp},{(Mpli):pli}

Dialing **2 + 011 + number will NOT match the first (bolded) rule.  It will match the {(<**2:>(Msp2)):sp2} rule, which strips the **2 and sends the call to SP2.  This is clearly the path that's being taken based on your Call History and none of this has anything to do with your new OutboundCallRoute rule.

Using sip.inum.net is guaranteed to work as that's iNum itself.  How LocalPhone handles iNum numbers may be another matter.

N7AS

I was just looking around on Localphone.com and found that you just dial the country code and number. So, I tried that. To force it out SP2 I preceded the number with **2. Still not working.

Does the Call History show the number being sent out SP2 as just CountryCode + number?

N7AS

Yes, It's going out SP2 with just the country code + number. I get nothing but dead air... no ringing.

Well, it sounds like you and the OBi are doing things right.  You probably need to have a look at the Call History on the provider's account page and possibly ask them why the call isn't going through.

N7AS

The last call that showed up on my Localphone call history was the one that I used the voice gateway to call my iNum number. All the others since do not show up. I guess I will have to send them another ticket.

I got this answer from Localphone.
QuoteWhen making calls from your Localphone VoIP client please dial the full international number without the 011 prefix.
I tried it again and still nothing. This is my call history for that call.

Does SP2 status show that you are registered with LocalPhone?

Which SP2 / ITSPB settings have you configured?  Normally, the only things that need to be changed from Default are:

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile B -> SIP -> ProxyServer

Voice Services -> SP2 Service -> X_ServProvProfile : B

Voice Services -> SP2 Service -> AuthUserName

Voice Services -> SP2 Service -> AuthPassword

Did you leave:

Voice Services -> SP2 Service -> URI

at Default?

Are you sure 4408444444699 is a working/reachable number?  I believe there is a special/additional charge to the caller for calling UK 0844 numbers.  Are you sure LocalPhone allows calling 0844 numbers?

N7AS

SP2 is registered with Localphone as I use it daily.

What say I do this...

Create another Voice Gateway - vg1
Name:               Localphone
AccessNumber: SP2(localphone.com)
DigitMap:          (xx.)    - (the default checked)
AuthUserID:      My UserID
AuthPassword:  My Password

then...

In PhonePORT > Digitmap > add 011(Mvg1)| (011 as trunk specifier)

and

In PHONE Port OutboundCallRoute: add {(<011:>(Mvg1)):vg1}, to what I already have there for the other Voice Gateways.

thus, when I precede an International number wirh 011 it would send only the number through Localphone. The 011 I think would be stripped from the number.

If you can use LocalPhone registered on SP2 to call any number except UK 4408444444699, what makes you think that using a Voice Gateway is going to change anything?  There's nothing magic about a Voice Gateway.  Your Call History indicates you're already sending just the number through LocalPhone (4408444444699).

Have you investigated the possiblity that LocalPhone simply doesn't support calling this number?

N7AS

I guess I'l have to open another support ticket with them.
