Hi all,

I am getting a new modem to replace the old one.  I have saved the configuration on the obi site.  What do I need to do when changing in this new modem?  Do I have to reset the obi devices and start all over again?  (I have 200 and 202).  Things have been working perfectly and I don't want to lose what I have just by installing a different modem and losing my number..   Any help would be appreciated.   ;D

My suggestion, power everything down, swap and power up. If all works, you are done. You may be able to replace the equipment with no changes.

A modem by itself has little to do with Obi configurations. That is unless there is built-in router too.

The router should be configured the same way as the old one (SIP-ALG off if that was off before, but recommended as off anyway).

If you used DHCP to vend IP addresses, then make sure that is on.

If you hardcoded an IP address for the Obi, make sure that you do that again. The same holds true if you enabled Quality Of Service.

Awesome!!!   Thank you so much... I can get the modem/router config...

As mentioned above, if it's just a modem with no built in router/wifi, the swap is seamless.  Disconnect one box, connect the other.  Normally the router connected to a modem will automatically pick up the new IP without a reboot, but a reboot wouldn't hurt either.

If the modem is a modem/router/wifi ap then things get more complicated.  You'll need to redo the wifi settings, lan assignments, etc..
