Can I somehow use a Polycom IP phone to connect to both GV and VoIPo?

I have GV, an OBI202 and an analog phone today.  I also have VoIPo, and a Polycom IP phone.  Is there anyway to get down to the one Polycom phone and use both services?

I believe I can buy an Obi IP phone and make it work but that is not an option as work wants me to use the Polycom.  It is nice and the speaker phone sound quality is excellent so I'd like to use it.

Below is a muttled diagram of what I've got today.  I'm wondering if it's possible to connect the Polycom to the LAN port of the Obi202 and route GV through it via Obi202 configuration so the Polycom can use both services and I can get down to one phone?

Or get an ATA adapter from the OBI202 phone port to the Polycom IP phone.  I doubt this would work since the Polycom only has one ethernet port.

Appreciate any insite.

*Maybe*.

Do you actually have two Internet services as your diagram shows?  If so (one for business, one for residential service), the likely the answer is no.

And if the polycom is provided by the business, its configuration may be locked, and if it is locked, then your business would have to do the configuration, which likely means no again (as the business is unlikely to be willing to do the configuration for you).

AFAIK, *most* polycom phones can support more than one VoIP service provider (I have no doubt there are some exceptions; polycom has made a lot of devices over the years).  One of the registrations could be to your business VoIP service, and one could point to your Obi2xx box as a new SP.  There are a couple of people that have posted the updated instructions on how to do that (azrobert I think did some of them), mostly with Cisco phones.  Here is a recent exchange: http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=14121.msg90568#msg90568 for a starting point.

Good catch RFC3261 and thanks for the reply.  I only have one network and ISP so I updated the diagram to reflect that.

The Polycom can be configured as needed and it supports 12 lines/VoIP providers that won't be a problem it's just that I'm new to this and so is my fellow employees.  There is a lot to learn.

You gave me my first clue in being able to point the Polycom to my Obi202 as a new SP.

I saw a reference to "use your obi202 as google voice gateway" but the link was dead.  I have been looking at the administration guide but haven't pinpointed the function/process yet.  Is there a link to configuring and IP phone through the Obi202 or the proper search terms I should be looking for?

http://web.archive.org/web/20160317011451/http://www.obihai.com/docs/OBi-VoIP-Device-Attach-Legacy-IP-Phone-Workbook-v1-0.pdf is the original Obihai instructions.  However I'm given to understand that the current firmware for the OBi200/202 has broken their ability to act as a SIP registrar.  But possibly your Polycom can make calls without being SIP registered to the OBi.

Well that was not very nice of them  >:(

Thanks drgeoff but the PDF won't load in Chrome or Acrobat and get a "failed to load document".  Looks like they broke the PDF too.

However when I searched for the PDF in google, I found this... https://www.ukvoipforums.com/download/file.php?id=760 (Configuring an OBi Voice Service Bridge to connect a legacy IP Phone v1.0) which at least give me some info to read.  Not sure if it's relevant but it talks specifically what I'm looking to do.

I had to try several times but the link did open in Chrome's (Version 67.0.3396.87 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10) pdf viewer immediately prior to my posting above.  (You need the complete link, not just the tail end starting at obihai.com.)

The document you got from ukvoipforums.com is the same one.

There will probably be a post soon from azrobert.
