So shoot me for not upgrading to a 200 series yet. Why is it that i can't complete calls to toll free numbers such as 888,866 etc..? There is a dial tone,I make the call,the number rings but when it is answered the call drops. I can call non-toll free numbers without any issue.

Has this happened to others?

drgeoff

We'll shoot you for not saying which ITSP you are using.

And what's with the double post?  Did you do that or has the forum software another wobbly.  (Attachments are not working.)

wpollock

ITSP is AT&T Uverse and I use google voice.As for the double post I feel fairly certain I only clicked post once and was somewhat perplexed when i saw a double post show up. Sorry for any consternation

azrobert

Some tollfree numbers will not work with GV.
I believe this has been fixed with the new GV.
You can setup VG1 with a free tollfree service.
Dial 18005551212 to route tollfree numbers to VG1.
Dial 800555121 to route tollfree numbers to GV.
The Profile A digit map assumes only N.America and 011 international.
Use OBi Expert to make the following configuration changes:

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile A  General -> DigitMap:
(8(00|88|77|66|55|44|33)xxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.S3)

Physical Interfaces -> Phone Port
Add this to the beginning of the OutboundCallRoute:
{(Mvg1):vg1},

Voice Services -> Gateways and Trunk Groups -> Voice Gateway 1
Name: Tollfree
DigitMap: (18(00|88|77|66|55|44)xxxxxxx)
AccessNumber: sp2(tf.arctele.com)
AuthUserID: 4805551212

The person receiving the call will see AuthUserID as your CallerID.

The above assumes SP2 is defined with a SIP provider.
If not, define a dummy provider:

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile B -> SIP -> ProxyServer: 127.0.0.1
Voice Services -> SP2 Service -> AuthUserName: anything
Voice Services -> SP2 Service -> X_RegisterEnable: unchecked
Voice Services -> SP2 Service -> X_ServProvProfile: B

If you have a 2nd GV account defined on SP2, you are SOL.

wpollock

Well perhaps I am out of luck regardless because SP2 is configured to Google Voice and SP1 is not configured. And excuse my ignorance for not knowing the shorthand when I ask what you are referring to by VG and VG1?

wpollock

Sorry for asking I did not see Voice gateway and Voice Gateway1 before i posted

azrobert

You can use SP1 for the tollfree provider.

Do you know how to use OBi Expert?

I'll rewrite the config to use SP1, so don't do anything now. I didn't know what you had configured, so I used a VG. The new config will have less code. I'll be back in about a 1/2 hour.

To enter OBi Expert from the Dashboard click on the gear ICON to the right of your OBi110 then select OBi Expert Config, confirm and select Enter OBi Expert.
To navigate click on the titles with the + then click on a sub-title.
An example: click on Service Providers then click ITSP Profile A General.
To make a change BOTH boxes to the right of the value must be unchecked.
When all changes are complete on this page, click Submit at the bottom of the page.
OBiTalk will download the configuration changes to the OBi and reboot it.
Wait until this process is complete before continuing to make another change on a different page. It takes about 1 minute.

Physical Interfaces -> Phone Port
Add this to the beginning of the OutboundCallRoute:
{(Msp1):sp1},

11 digit tollfree numbers will route to SP1
10 digit tollfree numbers will route to SP2
The person receiving the call will see AuthUserName as your CallerID.

Thanks azrobert. Once I feel comfortable that I will not screw up the device, I will try to make the changes. I have never used this part of the obi's configuration settings so hopefully it will be easy to make/apply the changes with your instructions

wpollock

One thing new is that I can receive calls from certain toll free area codes.I know because I received several from United Airlines flight status robo voice system yesterday.Should I still reconfigure as suggested by azrobert?

thanks

Toll-free phone numbers do not place outbound calls.  Whatever outbound phone service is being used simply spoofs the caller ID of the toll-free number.  They are regular telephone calls, no different than any other telephone calls.

wpollock

thanks for the information

As a etiquette rule and courtesy to the forum I somehow posted the same topic twice.is there a way to delete or close the post that is not being used?

Go to the post and "Remove" it. Only you can do it.

And I don't think it's your fault. Same thing happened to me. Forum software does strange stuff sometimes.
