I got a email for the first time in years from admin@obitalk.com at 1:30am this morning.  Is this a new service?  I have my router set to reboot every morning but I never got this message before.

The service has been around for several years.  When it can't reach your device for some set period of time (longer than a couple minutes, to avoid notifying upon simple reboots), it'll notify you via those emails.  The settings for this are on the OBiTALK portal, and you can set it per-device, on each device's main settings page.

It requires that the device be either under factory warranty, or have a paid extended service contract.
