OBi200 - Unable to add device to the dashboard - Unable to dial **5
swaravindd:
I'm trying to troubleshoot my OBI200 device, which stopped working before a month. I've been using this for almost 1 yr without any issues though.
I deleted my device and then tried adding the device as I was just hearing dial tones and unable to make or receive calls.
I tried adding the device to link my Google Voice by using the add device option in the dashboard.
It took me to the page with the instructions as given below, but when I try to dial this number I'm ubale to overrirde the dial tone and thereby it leads me to long beeps only without receiving any automated response.
Add an OBi Device
• Please pick up the telephone handset, and dial **5 2946
• You may hang-up when you hear the automated response.
Trying to connect to your device... (Timeout in 120 seconds)
I tried doing a hard reset with a dashboard pin and followed the steps, its assigning the IP address whcih I could see in the web portal, but still stuck with the same behavior.
drgeoff:
What do you hear when you dial ***0 ?
If dial tone does not disappear as soon as you dial a first digit, try another phone.
swaravindd:
Hello drgeoff,
Thanks for the quick response.
I wasn't home to try the option you suggested.
I just tried calling ***0 and it went to the OBI attendant automated voice, but the **5 alone is still acting weird as I mentioned when I'm trying to add the device.
Thanks in Advance.
drgeoff:
I cannot reconcile two of your statements which, to me, are contradictory.
1. In your first post "I'm ubale to overrirde the dial tone"
2. In your second post "tried calling ***0 and it went to the OBI attendant automated voice,"
Please clarify.
Then dial **9 222 222 222 and report exactly what happens.
swaravindd:
Hello,
Yes, whats happening sounds contradictory to me as well.
1) I'm unable to overrirde the dial tone when I try dialing **5... number
2) But when I dial ***0, i get to the automated voice.
Already tried dialing **9 222 222 222 but I end up to the same situation with long beeps like I receive when dialing **5.
Thanks
swaravindd
