tried turning off firewall, allowing ports thru, adding to DMZ ... nothing works

cville434:
i have centurylink service. I use their router/modem combo unit (actiontec c1900a) as a modem only (turn radio off) and use a TP Link n600 as my router.

I've tried turning off both firewalls, adding the suggested TCP and UDP ports through, and adding to the DMZ (which i actually could not do, i just get an error message that my IP address is incorrect, but I've checked the IP address of my obi box multiple times).

Allowed Outgoing:
TCP Ports: 6800, 5222, 5223
UDP Ports: 5060, 5061, 10000 to 11000, 16600 to 16998, 19305
Allowed Incoming on UDP Port: 10000

**9 222222222 doesn't work, and i keep failing when i try to set up

What model OBi?

Wired or wireless connection to router?

What is the Obi's IP address?  DHCP or static?

Does it work if you connect the OBi directly to the Actiontec?

Putteringalong:
I'm not cville434 but I have a similar set up and similar issues
OBi 200
Wired connection - static 192.1681.101
All listed ports forwarded
OBi static IP listed in DMZ

Asus RT-AC88U Merlin Firmware - don't use CenturyLink modem because it is not necessary with IPTV setting to VID201

I can **5 xxxx to set up a device but it always times out

**9 222 222 222 says that there is not a server available

TIA for any suggestions

The Obihai server is currently broken and that may be the reason for the **5 xxxx procedure failing.  Usually such failures during a weekend don't receive any maintenance before OBihai people come into work on Monday morning, US West Coast time.  And don't expect a quick fix then.

I suggest you restore all your modem/router settings to normal and leave the Obi alone until there are reports in http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=15296.0 that the server is working again.
