Unable to configure OBi200 with Google Voice and Polycom SoundStation IP 7000

It feels like I've tried every combination of guidelines that I've found online.

Here's one:

Here's another:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160317011451/http://www.obihai.com/docs/OBi-VoIP-Device-Attach-Legacy-IP-Phone-Workbook-v1-0.pdf

These conflict on some of the required settings, but I've tried both.

No matter what I do, I cannot get the SoundStation IP 7000 to call out.

The analog phone connected to the OBi200 was able to dial out successfully, so the Google Voice side of things seems like it's working, but I just can't get my conference IP phone (SoundStation) to have any success.

If I set only the Address/Authentication ID/Authentication Password and the Outbound Proxy in the LINE section of the SoundStation configuration, the phone boots, but trying to dial results in error beeps.

If I configure the Server1 Address/Port/Transport/etc. settings, the phone boots and says Line Unconfigured.

Both the phone and OBi are connected to the same network switch.

Phone Info:
Phone Model   SoundStation IP 7000
Part Number   3111-40000-001 Rev:J
UC Software Version   4.0.14.0987
BootROM Software Version   5.0.1.10553

I'm hoping that this should be possible, especially since OBi and Polycom are now one. Can anyone clarify what I should be doing to get this to work. I don't even need the IP phone to receive calls; it just needs to dial out.

Yes, Polycom bought Obihai (and now merged with Plantronics), but so far, they haven't released any products that will interoperate with Google Voice.  It is very unlikely that they will go back and modify any existing products to do that.

There are a lot of long back-and-forth discussions on the forum about attempting to use an IP phone attached to a OBiTALK device.  Personally, I think they are a waste of time and effort.

If all you need is outbound calling on that conference phone, then sign up with any SIP VoIP ITSP and provision that service right on the IP phone.  A small businessman named Sam Moats posts here, and he offers an extremely low $0.005/minute rate to call most US phone numbers.  http://www.circlenet.biz/  If you want to work with a more established company, Callcentric and voip.ms are two top choices.

You need to setup the IP phone to call without registration. If your phone doesn't have this option, try the following anyway. It still might work even if registration fails.

That thread simply makes my point:  after 8 posts, it still didn't work.  There are plenty of other multi-page exercises in frustration trying to do the same thing.  It's a waste of time, other than a hobbyist/nerd exercise.

Anyone who can afford a $500 conference phone can afford to pay Sam $0.005/min to make calls.

Here's a slightly ugly but totally free workaround you might want to try.

Get a free account with Callcentric or voip.ms and set up a couple of extensions/subaccounts.  Set up AutoAttendant on the Obi200 with SP1 (your Google Voice service) as the default outbound line.  Set up one of the extensions on SP2, with inbound call route to {aa}.  Install the other subaccount on your conference phone.  If you have a limited number of points you call with the conference phone, install those numbers as speed dials on the Obi200.

So, after everything is installed and registered, here's what dialing out on the conference phone might look like:

You dial 101 (if that's the extension number you've assigned) for the AutoAttendant, choose 2 for dialing out, enter your 2-digit speed dial (or the full number), hit #, and presto, you're placing a free GV call through your conference phone via the Obi200.
