Support for SIP over TCP/TLS means I can use my fax machine?

Just updated to the new software -- thank you OBI! -- and am now wondering if "Support for SIP over TCP/TLS" means I can use my fax machine again. If so, what do I have to do to make it work? I'm technically challenged, so please be kind (and very specific) with your answers ... as if you were explaining to a six-year-old. :)

Also, does this new feature come with any other benefits that OBI owners can use?

Thank you in advance for your help...

SIP over TCP/TLS (Transport Layer Security) is related to security, not faxing.

Ah, thank you. But of course that just leads to the next question: what does 'related to security' mean, exactly? What feature is there now that wasn't there before?

Is there anything I should do to take advantage of this?

Thanks,

It's a security feature your VoIP provider would have to support and it would be utilized if enabled by the provider.
