Hotline config keeps dialing the set number repeatedly

Hi all,

We have a obihai 302 setup as an FXS port to handle our door intercom.

The idea is that when the door phone/intercom button is pressed it takes the line off-hook and the Obihai then dials a preset number.

This works great - the number is setup under Physical Interfaces - PHONE1 port - digitmat as "(<:xxxx>)" and that works perfectly until the person who is being called hangs up, then the Obihai seems to consider the line as off-hook again and just keeps dialing the extension over and over rather than ending the call.

Does anyone have any idea as to why and how to stop this from happening?

thanks
Barry

My first suspect would be that the door button or wiring to it has gone "leaky" (possibly as a result of dampness/verdigris etc) and is passing sufficient current to cause the OBi to consider it an off-hook condition.

Plug an ordinary phone directly into the OBi, take it off-hook and hangup.  If it doesn't repeatedly dial there is nothing wrong with the OBi.

Thanks, the issue is not that the doorphone keeps going off hook it's that if the door phone doesn't hang up (which it doesn't really do, it just times out).

What I have done now is to plug an analogue phone into the Obi302 and this is what happens.
The obi is configured to dial an extension using digitmap "(<3351>)"

When the handset is picked up on the analogue phone the Obi dials the extension so all good so far.
When the extension that has been dialled (3351) hangs up the Obi gets a dialtone and then dials again immediately.

Is there some way around that - can there be a delay on hangup before a dialtone is issue again to give the doorphone/intercom time to hangup?

thanks

Try: (<S4:3351>)

It will wait 4 seconds after off-hook before dialing.
