I have a personal GV account, but I want to try their new GV for a Small Business with another number.

https://cloud.google.com/voice/   outlines that the business offering for $20/mo has desk phone access

Yes, I need to porting a business number, which would be a new concept (not porting from a mobile carrier)

More importantly, the point of my post; does anyone have a straight answer about the OBiTalk site to set up one of these 'new' VOICE accounts... https://cloud.google.com/voice/

Is anyone live them this using a ObiTalk?

I have a OBI1062 at my office and a OBI2182 at my home office.

  • Google Voice for G Suite has different procedures to assign telephone numbers, and to port in numbers.  Unlike the consumer Google Voice, it can port in land line numbers.
  • Per my post to which Geoff posted a link, you cannot use your existing OBi IP phones.  The only phones that are supported at this time are the Poly VVX x50 series of IP phones.
  • All management of IP phones is performed on the G Suite Google Voice administrator console, NOT on the OBiTALK portal website.  All configuration is completely automated, with no manual configuration needed.
